Twilight River’s Fox Spirit
Under the crescent moon, a fox spirit drifted gracefully across a lantern-lit river, her nine tails flowing like threads of starlight. Snow blanketed the silent landscape, broken only by the soft glow of lotus lanterns floating downstream. Each step she took shimmered across the water, as if weaving dreams into reality.
The shrine bridge stood tall behind her, a gateway between the human world and the realm of spirits. Small fox companions followed in her wake, their forms luminous yet fleeting, like whispers of forgotten prayers. She paused only once, gazing skyward, her silver hair illuminated by constellations that seemed to bow in reverence.
As the river carried its lights further into the night, her presence lingered—a guardian of winter’s beauty and twilight’s secrets. Those who caught a glimpse would speak of the Fox Spirit of Eternal Dusk, a vision who walked between worlds, leaving wonder in her wake.
 
黄昏の川の狐
三日月の下、狐の精霊は九つの尾を揺らしながら、灯籠の浮かぶ川を静かに歩んでいた。雪に覆われた景色の中、流れる蓮の灯りが彼女の足元を照らし、まるで夢が現実へと縫い込まれるようであった。
背後にそびえる神社の橋は、人の世と霊の世界を繋ぐ門のように佇んでいた。彼女の後ろを追う小さな狐たちは淡く光り、忘れられた祈りの囁きのように儚く消えていく。銀の髪が星々に照らされ、まるで天が彼女に頭を垂れているかのようであった。
川の流れに乗って灯籠が遠ざかる中、彼女の姿は冬の美と黄昏の秘密を守る存在として残った。その姿を一目見た者は「常闇の狐」と呼び、世界の狭間を歩む幻のような彼女を語り継いだ。
